If you take too much of the metal off by "polishing", you will make your G43 into an unsafe weapon which could result in the "safety" part of the plunger not so safe. The slide is removed from the frame. The extractor plunger is not in the slide. The slide is an aftermarket slide. Shaking the slide produces no rattle.

I see extractors in stock in many places. I don't see any online vendor with an extractor plunger or plunger spring for the gun. My first thought, and the advice of another long-time Glock shooter who inspected everything yesterday, was to replace both of those.
