I edc a 43x with tungsten guide rod. Have had zero issues with it other than noticing in the early days of carrying after installing , the added weight caused a very little bit of sagging. Quick adjustment in my holster location fixed that. It definitely reduces the snappiness of it. Other than the rod, optic, and s15 mag.

The only issue I have in this is that it is Glock and in this case a 43x and 48 built on the same platform with many of the same internal components. The main exceptions seem to be the slide and barrel, which add mass to the front end of where the 43x leaves off. Just want to hear y'alls thoughts. P365XL is the better complete package. Like you said you'll have to fuss with the 43X, and it will be more expensive in the end. But if you shoot Glocks well then the 43X is likely the better choice regardless of cost.
The Glock MOS with CHWPS 507K plate is the cheapest route, though I do not really care for using plates, this seems to be working quite well for many and is certainly the quickest approach.
