Several watches were used and shots were taken at logical intervals like right after charging, then 5 minutes, then 20, then 45, then 2 hrs then 6 then 10.

I bought a 39 in September 2022 so one of the first ones. The difference was very noticeable and annoying. The lume lasted a good few hours but the hands much dimmer. Why the FXD doesn't suffer with this is a mystery. The 39 is long gone and I don't miss it at all. Dan.Gem Nation is always great to deal with. Tubes and crowns is an area where many "luxury watches" disappoint, but these did not. They unscrew, click into the winding position, and the other two positions are crisp as well. My Citizen AJ-0100's lume is easily equal to that of my Seiko Black Knight, in longevity. In initial brightness, I believe the edge goes to the Seiko. But after 7 hours of sleep (or thereabouts), the Citizen appears to me to retain more luminosity. Easily readable in the early morning hours.
I have the Hamilton Khaki Field auto chrono day date and when I charge the lume while reading in bed for about 30 min it lasts for at least 4-6 hours. I know this as I usually wake up during the night and by habit just check it. The best test is to just charge and try.
