I’ve been running into quite a few people using Polaris Lance and the ignitions caused from damaging the barrier champ destroy the node and spawn the boss. Oddly enough, I had one run this morning where the boss spawned in before we were done killing the barrier champion. I managed to get up into the cheese spot while my teammates died.
Base DPS of Vortex frame w/ Jagged Edge (H-Light Loop-H): 18,094. Base DPS of Lament (Light Loop): 19,597. So if your FG has no damage perks and no mod, Lament's definitely better. But adding even just a regular boss spec mod (7.8% damage increase) brings its DPS to ~19,505. So just the mod brings it in line with Lament.
