I know nothing about cars, but really don't want to go to a dealer since they charge out the a$$ for simple things. Has anyone else had this issue?There are only 2 lock cylinders on the car, one in the driver's door handle and one in the glove box door. The door lock cylinder is to manually release the door latch should the car's battery be dead or the transmitter not be able to identify you to the vehicle. Here is an illustration of the lock cylinder location.I can press the unlock button on the fob and everything unlocks like normal and I can pull on the handle and it opens. Its only when the doors are locked and i pull on the drivers door that it won't automatically unlock. This happened a couple years ago, and a simple replacement of my key fob battery fixed the issue.The key fobs are very finicky. Take it apart and use a pencil eraser to clean the two tiny prongs that make contact with the fob battery. They may need slight bending for good contact with the battery. Also IIRC there are two small rectangular copper pads that need to be cleaned also. Reassemble with a new battery. Good Luck. Program Remote – Step 1.
