any build is viable for PvE. people have completed the game SL1, no reason why a pyro wouldn't work. black knight weapons are your go-to for pyro builds because they have innate fire damage and there's a few different ones to choose from. if you're more for strength weapons then you could invest 50 STR to use the Iron King Hammer (or 25 STR just to be able to two-hand it), if you need ...Dark Fog will occasionally be very useful and Dark Hail is useful both against mobs and large bosses.
