Yesturday I actually timed how long it takes to travel across a grid (smallest square on the in game map) it takes about 18 seconds. Round that to 20 lets say. So lets get u need to go from 080000 to 050000. That is a diff of 30 squares, divide by 3 (60 sec per 3 grids). This trip will take you approx. 10 mins. 1.I played Deer Isle with my brother for a few hours. We did this really long distance swim to an island in the south west. Inside the island there was some crazy shit, unfortunately my brother fell to his death leaving me alone to explore the secrets of the island. Apart from the underground segments, Deer Isle has secrets aplenty.It runs bad, looks bad and plays bad. DayZ is the kinda game you have to gamble with. It is glitchy, runs bad, dosent look too good, has a learning curve and has a more hidden community compared to other games. But the same can be said for nearly all alternatives - arma 3, scum, arma 2 DayZ, etc...

The mechanics make a decent amount of sense (for a game), what doesn't make sense ...Eat and drink one last time and equip the NBC suit, mask in hand. Take strong melee, at least two guns, stuff to repair the suit, stuff to repair you and ammo. You won't need long rifles but two silenced pistols and something else to PVP with like AK-74 is what I'd recommend. Low weight and low space.

Food is really secondary. find a melee and learn to sneak. kill zombies with it when you have to. guns only attract more zombies. gear up by moving off the coast. I enjoy playing the game but I am fucking tired of playing against people who are obviously either using exploits or cheating altogether. Also I am interested in some of the things Day-Z modded has to offer as well, more guns, more ammo, bigger packs, better ways to secure loot, etc. Day-Z official is trash.
