On the top left of your screen is ⚙️gear/cog, when you open it there is a slide bar to enable the chat. They may have 2 devices synced like their iPhone and iPad. If so you can collect both coins and crowns on both. If you do one before the other the 2nd device adds to the current device silver coins thus the Crown moves further forward.

I posted about this a couple of days ago when I contacted support, but the app is still failing to let me watch ad videos to get extra gems or daily prizes.
