Using a polearm and haste means you can sprint and teleport around the battlefield freely. Strength based horizon walker is a very fun character. Being able to get reach with a polearm (if you aren't interested in a DEX whip build) is useful to be able to make the most out of Distant Strikes.

Unless this is a lvl 20 build, I wouldn't go beyond 3-4 levels in fighter, since it's not much and you need a lot of time in horizon walker to actually get the cool teleporting/space magic stuff. Rogue is always a good multiclass for ranger! Cleric would also be a good choice, as would druid. Probably will want to wait until 11th level Ranger (for Distant Strikes, which really is the iconic Horizon Walker feature) for multiclassing, or 12th level for that ASI as a general rule for whatever you decide to dip into.
