Basically, picking that technology (whatever it is) is going to make an end game crisis revolving around that specific tech way more likely. However, the crisis is not guaranteed. An Endgame crisis will still appear no matter what techs you use.

I just got back into stellaris and I am playing as an Empire that slowly heads towards synthetic evolution. At the moment my population is 2/3 my cybernetic pop and 1/3 of synthetics (3 different kinds). I remember something about the dangers of synthetics. At the moment they are all "enslaved".

Im in a similar situation, though my issue is I've already had exotics extraction researched, I can build ground bases for these materials, but I cannot build mining stations to get the gases offworld, this issue is stemming across rare crystals and exotic gases aswell.
