While the charting is not perfect, it’s very easy to learn and is good for day to day trade initiation. For clarity, i do all my trade planning and real time market observation in TOS and keep just a single window of Tradovate. Market data is much faster in Tradovate compared to TOS.

Good:-Tradovate back ui is good. I like the account reports with with bunch of P&L graphs and metrics .but sometimes the data is not recent they lag a bit. -In the settings very clearly organized for subscription and modification cme data and membership fees.

If you don't tie your orders to 1 tick data or use high fill resolution, your backtest will be wildly different than reality. If you use 1 tick data or high fill resolution, you will be closer to reality (it's pretty good)--I would still visually validate there aren't data issues though, as they do happen (you know it when you see it on the chart).

If it’s lagging make sure you are directly connected to a router, no wireless, and make sure your pc has a good cpu and graphics card. Their program is not the best out there but it’s also not bad.

Tradovate will lag during busy crazy events, so buyer beware. If you avoid those you should be fine. If you want to go deep down the rabbit hole, you can do anything on Sierra Chart and it is way cheaper than Ninja Trader. All together Tradeday is at least as good as its competitors, because you don't have to pay a fee for the funded account. It's all in one price. And they allow less risk than the others which is not bad. But the best is the different drawdown calculation, that really sucks at all the other companies.

I will offer this one bit of caution: if you are simulating trading during a low volume session, for example overnight, I would say its not that accurate bc stops get tagged pretty easily overnight vs regular hours.

I used tradovate for over a year as my main futures, if it was dependable i would have stayed. I use Sierra Chart and Stage 5 now, it’s cheaper with same style membership and you do not get problems. If you don’t mind learning a new software that takes a while, it is way better. Candles do not lag at all, ever.
