Hawk helium stick mods.
Lone wolfs are great, but only one step. I like the muddy sticks with the cam cleat system, but they are short sticks. Hawks are good, except for the strap fastening system. Its like each stick is missing one thing. Personally, I think the best stick would be the hawk with the cam cleat system, or the muddy if it was full sized.

The stick is around 30", so with 3 sticks and 2 intervals between sticks that's +150". I don't like big steps from last stick to platform so +18". That's 22' max with 3 sticks and 4 screw in steps. Jan 18, 2016 · No. Rope stays in cleat and the safety hitch stays. You loosen the rope slightly while on the cam and hitched and work it up the tree. Works great. Flinginairos has videos on YouTube (search guidos web, part 1, part 2). My setup is almost exactly the same. I use 1-3 sticks with 5 step aiders to get to up to 22 feet.

I use sticks to climb and I purchased the hawk helium. I did the standard 1/4 inch amsteel mod and also camoed my sticks. I was concerned with kickout as I saw a guy that ended up in the hospital with a pretty bad injury. I decided to mod my sticks once More and added a lone wolf versa button To my sticks.Wrap the strap around the tree and then slide the closest adapting loop over the Versa button. At this point it should be attached to the tree and will be a bit loose. Pull out the top two steps and pull them down with some pretty good force to seat the legs into the tree and put tension on the strap. Its a cool system, glad they did it.Amsteel Rope Mod. So I had some 7/64” black Amsteel and a bunch of Endura Dyneema rope in same size but in blue.
