Glenfield 30a vs marlin 336.

Jan 7, 2021 · Hello, this is my JM stamped Glenfield 30A which is basically a Marlin 336 but with a cheaper stock and its in great condition. By my research it was made in 1973 based on the serial number. There is still plenty of rifling left so it hasn't been used that much. Re: 16" - 18" barrels on 336 I always liked the 20" barrels on the 336 vs the 24" my brother has on his 336A. But after buying the 1894C with the 18.5" barrel, I really like the shorter barreled gun.
