Using Rare Candies, the perfect IV guy in Celadon, and the vitamins makes it SOOO much easier to have perfect IV and EV mons, with little grinding. At that point it comes down to what makes it more fun imo ... I personally only play min grind mode now. Searching for 50+ Meowth's to get 1 with decent IV/natures is just not fun. I know EVs add a lot to team customization and that's nice but actually EV training in early game is so boring.
