I've been only playing bow and pierce lbg in rise and I dunno why but the critical range with the long barrel is just way too far away, often I'm out of roar ranges for max damage, and fighting more mobile mons has been a royal pain due to how slow the shots move. Looking forward to actually able to get closer and hit the dam things

Using hailstorm and building for pierce is an odd choice. If you want to go pierce then stick to the malzeno/shagaru/narga lines for rapid fire pierce 2. You'll need to find room for some salvo decos but your damage will be way higher. edit: I personally use the Malzeno lbg because walking reload feels so good.
