If it's peened (a little dent there) the back of the case can bend and not compress the clay-like medium which is used as a primer. A nice bright flashlight helps if your eyes are as old as mine ;-)I still wish I had dumped it and gotten her a Marlin 795. Just about the worst trigger I have ever felt, the funky linkage arrangement on a stock Saiga was much better then the plinkster. I hate it, really hate it. I guess I should get it out again and try it one more time just to make sure.There are 2 reasons not to clean the barrel. # 1.) It is very easy to damage the crown of muzzle with cleaning rod if one is not VERY careful. 2.)
