Air bubbles had formed at the top of the bend, essentially an air lock that stopped fluid from passing along. Using the syringe, we were able to gently purge the bubbles and it worked fine after that. The snow output is less than I thought it would be but it functions. I imagine trapped bubbles may be an issue from time to time.
