They even developed a scan that was supposed to look for possible trouble ECM 's but that proved to be a bust in the end. It seems to me that if the stator was going bad or completely failed, you would have battery charge problems, as the stator (alternator) is what charges and maintains the charge of the battery along with the voltage regulator. It was losing the C-D continuity while in the start position. This means that the ECM was losing power while cranking even though the Spark Module was still receiving B+.
