We're so excited and I would love to hear all of the advice you all may have in regards to doing this for the first time.Here's an update from Inyo SAR FB page. Yes, it is melting and getting a little less every day, but a lot of snow is remaining, especially in the dangerous sections around the 99 Switchbacks of the Main Trail as well as the Chute on the Mountaineers’ Route.Each area has a three-digit code, which is used for searches. The Snow Courses are areas of major water shed interest (drainages). The snow sensors and physical surveys are usually in meadows, not on mountain summits like Whitney. Have fun.
