I never spend dragon gems unless I got a harder to obtain egg/nest/item I won. max I spend to continue is 10 and I exit instantly. I recommend leaving as soon as you get a hard to get item because most the stuff is junk anyway and treasure tower resets for a free play like every 5 or 6 hrs iirc.
