My LK-93 and my son's 209 Wolverine are of similar design as the MK85. I have the 209 conversion in the LK but the Wolverine-209 obviously comes that way from Knight and the Wolverine is rated for 150 gr. We both shoot 100gr loose FFG 777. Knight brought out the musket cap conversion because they did not think the 209 conversion was good for the MK-85. They were not rated as a "Magnum MZ". And the 209's are pretty hot. Hey Cayuga I may be missing something but according to to the "sticky" posted by Big 6x6 at the top of this forum he lists a knight wolverine with the 209 as a muzzleloader that can use Black Horn. I own both the mk and the wolverine and don't see much diff. in the hammer assemblies.

The length of the 5/8" NEF plug is 1.510" w/primer, the length of the new (domed) NFPJ plug is 1.654" from mating surface w/primer, the length of the old (pre-FPJ) 209 plug is 1.775" w/primer. Both of these Knight plugs would have to be modified, preferrably in the primer pockets for the H&R/NEF.

MK85 is probably correct. If you do not find the 209 conversion I do have a musket cap conversion for that rifle in the reloading room.
