Many here use 2 bolt but they use the ARP bolts or studs in the mains. I would definately use a L19 rod bolt or better for insurance for anything above 5500rpm.Jul 14, 2009. #2. These stock LT4 cams really do no like rpm, they're even worse on the stock blower. Heres some data: **All tests completed at 4000ft altitude, DA changed but dyno is using SAE correction. This is my final run for all 3 configurations: Green: 90mm upper, stock lower: 14.5psi at 6500rpm, 24deg. 8psi at 3000rpm.

About 400-450 HP/TQ is the limit on the stock TH400. No Doubt. According to Getrag 550 Newton Meters of engine torque which is 405.6 lb-ft for the Getrag Type 625 Corvette differential. Note: that figure is for a differential with 2.73 gears. The Z06 differential has shot peened gears and with its 3.42 ratio may have a different engine torque rating.

What you could do is build a strong 3.0 engine using the 3.2 crank in a 2.8 block. Perfect for big boost The 3.2 head drops right on too if you use a BDE 2.8 as your base. In fact I may even do that myself when I finally get round to turboing mine. The 2.8 block is a lot stronger than the 3.2. Did have: 94 Corrado R32.The stock bottom is supposed to be able to handle 8 lb of boost. That should be good for close to 100 HP. I think the first thing to fail in a stock calibrated TH400 due to power would usually be the direct clutches. The sprag is a weak point also but I think engine rpm is as much of a killer as power.
