May 18, 2012 · 2000 kawasaki vn800 drifter,ignition problems. im trying to repair my uncles bike ,his ignition switch went,so he hooked it up with a toggle switch,ans put the rest of the wires in a wire nut,accept the grey wire,i bought a new ignition switch and hooked up all the wires,bought a 100 ohm ,half watt resistor for thr grey wire,hooked it all up ... My vn1600 nomad has given me zero problem's. The odometer has 76578 on it. Just bought a 9,100 mile Vulcan 800, 2004. At first the engine was rough, have not been started in about 8 months. Took it home cleaned it up. Next day I noticed every time going into 1st gear hot or cold it clunk's, even riding it going into 2nd gear. Anybody out there have this problem with there Kawasaki 800. please let me know thanks.
