If you want the extra challenge, then yeah playing the original PS2 release could be fun for sure, but otherwise the game on the whole is better in SE.Gold is the easier continue system, which was in the JP version of the original DMC3. Yellow orbs have been dispensed with in favour of infinite (and free) continues.
